National Home Inspector Associations and Organizations

ASHI – American Society of Home Inspectors – The Nations oldest and most trusted organization. Great resource for Home Inspectors, Home Buyers and Home Sellers.

AII – American Institute of Inspectors – AII is a non-profit corporation established as a national inspection trade association.

IHINA – Independent Home Inspectors of North America – This organization represents Home Inspectors who abide and have signed a pledge not to solicit work from Real Estate Agents. Many in the business believe that it’s a conflict of interest.  A great source for Home Buyers looking for an independent and unbiased home inspection.

NAHI – National Association of Home Inspectors – A nonprofit association to promote and develop certified and licensed home inspectors in the professional home inspection industry.

NACHI – National Association of Certified Home Inspectors – An association designed to educate and help Inspectors learn more about the industry and market their business.

 State Home Inspector Associations

CREIA – California Real Estate Inspection Association – The California association to help Inspectors market their businesses including a search feature for consumers to find home inspectors in their area.

CAHI – Connecticut Association of Home Inspectors – Designed to help members with continuing education and keeping abreast of regulation changes in the state of Connecticut.

GAHI – Georgia Association of Home Inspectors – a professional organization dedicated to improving the skills and education level of residential inspectors, builders, architects and municipal inspectors throughout the state of Georgia.

KREIA – Kentucky Real Estate Inspectors Association – Maintains standards of conduct for its members and provide its members with education and training opportunities.

NCLHIA – North Carolina Licensed Home Inspector Association – A resource for those Home Inspectors and Consumers who live in the state of North Carolina.

MSHI – Minnesota Society of Housing Inspectors – Provides a Code of Ethics and a Standards of Practice and continuing education for its members.

NJ-ALPHI – New Jersey Association of Licensed Professional Home Inspectors – A place for those in the Home Inspection industry in New Jersey.

 NYSAHI – New York State Association of Home Inspectors – Promotes home inspectors in New York and helps them keep up with current regulations.

PHIC - Pennsylvania Home Inspector Coalition – Promotes standards of professionalism in the home inspection profession and act as a unified representative voice, on a state level.

SNAPPI – Southern Nevada Association of Professional Property Inspectors – A non-profit organization that requires all home inspectors to have errors & omissions insurance and general liability.

TAREI – Texas Association of Real Estate Inspectors – Promotes a professional code of ethics for its members, reviews and upgrades minimum standards, provides recommendations to the Texas Real Estate Commission, and conducts continuing education programs for all home inspectors in Texas.

VAREI – Virginia Association of Real Estate Inspectors – the professional association of, by and for Virginia home inspectors.

WAHI – Wisconsin Association of Home Inspectors – A non-profit association dedicated to promoting and developing the home inspection industry within the State of Wisconsin
